The Web of Science Core Collection comprises multiple databases that index journals, books, and conference proceedings.
The following Web of Science Core Collection indexes include journals only:
• Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE)
• Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI)
• Arts & Humanities Citation Index (AHCI)
• Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI)
Springer Nature journal webpages identify the specific Web of Science database in which a journal is indexed rather than displaying the general term “Web of Science (WoS).” Therefore, if any of the four indexes listed above are indicated, the journal should be regarded as indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection.
The Book Citation Index (BKCI) indexes books exclusively. All books, including book series, are indexed as individual titles.
The Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) indexes conference proceedings.
