Scopus indexes books either at the chapter level or at the book level, depending on the publication type and associated metadata. Chapter-level indexing means that each chapter is indexed individually and can be discovered using its corresponding DOI and metadata. Book-level indexing means that the entire book is indexed as a single record and can be discovered using the book DOI and metadata.
For standalone book titles:
• Edited volumes receive both chapter-level and book-level indexing in Scopus.
• Monographs receive book-level indexing only.
For books published within a series:
• Book series are indexed in Scopus in a manner similar to journals. As a result, books within a series are indexed only at the chapter level.
These indexing policies are applied consistently, and Scopus does not make exceptions to them.
