Missing Authors with Single-Letter Last Names

Created by Atul Raut, Modified on Tue, 25 Aug at 10:56 AM by Sonal Shukla

Google Scholar has indicated that its system may encounter difficulty in correctly identifying authors whose last name consists of a single letter. In such cases, the web crawler may fail to capture the author’s name while indexing.

Google Scholar recommends verifying that the author’s name is formatted correctly in the published article. If the name has not been updated in the publication itself, the indexing error cannot be corrected manually. In these circumstances, it will be necessary to wait until Google Scholar’s automated system reprocesses the metadata and successfully identifies the author.

Please note that the Google Scholar indexing procedure is fully automated, and the service does not make manual corrections to individual records.

For further assistance or clarification, please contact Google Scholar’s support team.
