Springer Nature Subscription article deposition to PMC

For journals that are fully indexed in PMC, Springer Nature automatically deposits all articles in PubMed Central. Please note that Springer Nature deposits the final published Version of Record (VOR). For journals that publish articles online ahead of print, the final issue version, including the correct pagination, is deposited once the article has been assigned to an issue and formally published. Please be aware that these articles may be subject to an embargo period in accordance with Springer Nature policies.

For journals that are not indexed in PMC, Springer Nature does not deposit subscription articles, even when the articles acknowledge funding from a PMC partner or another funder approved by PMC. In such cases, authors are responsible for self-archiving their manuscripts through the NIH Manuscript Submission (NIHMS) system and should refer to Springer Nature policies to determine the applicable embargo period.
