For monographs, Google Scholar considers the book itself to be the primary indexable item. The platform does not generally intend to index monographs at the chapter level.

However, in certain cases, individual chapters may be indexed inadvertently. This is a result of Google Scholar’s fully automated indexing process and cannot be manually corrected.

For edited volumes, Google Scholar treats individual chapters as the primary indexable items. The platform does not generally intend to index edited volumes at the book level, although in certain cases such volumes may be indexed inadvertently.
